Lectio Divina in our lives

We believe that God is with us
in whatever we do,
wherever we are.
Not only is God with us,
God also wants to teach us,
to give us hope.
He loves us as his children.
God invites us to love everyone and everything
that he has created.
God wants to give us all the help we need for this.
God wants to build a relationship of love with us.

The most important way
that God has chosen
is through his Son, Jesus Christ.
The Bible reveals Christ to us in all sorts of ways
and invites us to choose to follow Christ.
And following Christ is what we need, to have life and have it to the full.

Food for our journey

This is why we should read the Bible in a different way:
we should read it as though the words are food.

The words of the Bible are food for us
because of Jesus Christ’s presence in them.
The words can give us strength and inspiration
if we receive them with love.

Every day we need to return to God
because we can all lose hope,
become lost and get caught up in our own selfishness.
We leave no room for God.
God wants to speak to our hearts to show us love
and give us encouragement and strength.
We can receive this by opening the Bible
and simply being with him,
listening to him and responding to him in prayer.

It is the Holy Spirit, as Christ promised the disciples,
who makes this happen:

The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything and remind you
of all I have said to you
.” (John 14:26)
